Welcome!

Welcome! ....As a Painter and Textile Artist....... I also make "stuff". I love the creative process... My design style spans from the charm and unpretentions of the Rustic, Folkart Primitives, the comfortable and pleasant Cottage/Traditionals, to the surprises in Found Object and the mystery of Improvisational Abstract. I am inspired by God and His creation... I design and paint, and sew and knit and carve wood, and enjoy needle handwork... My creative curiosity leads me from one to the next... I enjoy my garden, have a dog and a cat, love the outdoors, and I enjoy my family and friends! I currently live in the beautiful state of Idaho...

Fractured Fabric Society Meeting...

Greetings Everyone...
Last night I attended the Fractured Fabric Society.  It is a local association of art quilt enthusiasts.  We finalized the pieces that will be displayed at the Lenexa City Hall through the month of March.  I entered the two pieces that are posted on this site.  The depth of talent in this group always inspires me.  We discussed also, juried opportunities through AQS...it was a great night of inspiration.  We always have show and tell and that is always interesting to see the vision that each individual has..  I applaud Rosemary Cromer for her fearless leadership!  She has done a wonderful job!
Smiles to You,
Val  :-)

  3. Hi Val.

Just discovered your blog today via the Fractured Fabric Society. I was up at Lenexa City Hall and saw the beautiful quilts displayed. I am completely new to quilting...and sewing I might add, but am already addicted! My friend and neighbor is teaching me how to quilt and I am currently working on a sampler quilt. She also took me to my first KCMQG meeting in March. I am eager for April 1st to arrive so that I can officially join...the talent and inspiration was amazing. Looking forward to your future posts...and I noticed that we follow some of the same blogs. I just love Anne Marie of Na~Da Farm. Her blog is such a lovely, peaceful place to visit!

    Take care,
    Valerie (Val)
